Answer
After consuming a high glucose meal, insulin is released from the pancreas to help lower blood sugar levels by facilitating the uptake of glucose into cells. As blood glucose levels rise, glucagon secretion decreases since glucagon's role is to raise blood glucose levels when they are low. Therefore, shortly after a high glucose meal, insulin levels increase while glucagon levels decrease.
