Based on the experiment conducted by Howard Florey, the most logical conclusion is that penicillin may have played a role in the survival of the four treated mice. The data clearly shows that of the eight infected mice, those that received penicillin survived while those that did not succumbed to the infection. Thus, this supports the idea that penicillin was effective in treating the bacterial infection in these mice.
