The symptoms of vomiting and diarrhoea in Salmonella infections are primarily caused by toxins secreted by the bacteria. When Salmonella bacteria invade the gastrointestinal tract, they release these toxins, which lead to inflammation and irritation of the gut lining, resulting in the body’s attempt to expel the irritants through vomiting and increased bowel movements.
