To conduct a flame test, first take a clean wire loop (usually made of platinum or nichrome) and dip it into the solid substance being tested. Next, hold the wire in the flame of a Bunsen burner, observing the color produced. It is important to hold the wire in the Bunsen flame to ensure accurate results.
