His successful expedition to France in 1513 showcased his diplomatic capabilities and earned him favor with the king. Furthermore, his role as the Royal Almoner allowed him direct influence over the distribution of royal patronage and financial resources, strengthening his position at court. However, it is essential to note that his rise was also due to the political climate of the time, the weaknesses of his rivals, and his ability to navigate the complexities of Tudor politics. Thus, one could argue that while organisation was vital, Wolsey’s rise was multifaceted.
