Rebirth refers to the Buddhist concept of the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth (samsara). It is not a mere reincarnating of the same self, but rather a transformation where consciousness takes on a new form in the process of living.

Dependent origination is a fundamental Buddhist principle that explains the interdependence of all phenomena. It teaches that all things arise and cease based on conditions. In essence, nothing exists in isolation; everything is interconnected. This concept highlights that suffering arises through ignorance and the relentless cycle of craving and grasping, leading individuals to react and create further conditions that perpetuate their existence.

Craving is identified in Buddhism as a root cause of suffering, and specifically as the second of the Four Noble Truths. By recognizing the source of suffering as craving, one can begin to understand the importance of relinquishing desires and attachments. Ending craving leads to enlightenment by allowing individuals to see reality as it is, free from the distortions of desire and aversion. Through proper understanding and practice, one can attain Nirvana, which is the cessation of suffering and the ultimate goal of enlightenment.
