The following interview is with the French singer, Tal.

1. Salut, Tal. Parle-moi de ton enfance.
Je suis né en Israël, mais j’ai grandi à Paris. À la maison on ne parlait pas hébreu. Donc, la langue française a toujours été difficile pour moi. À l’école primaire, j’étais malheureuse parce que je ne comprenais pas toujours l’institutrice, et mes camarades de classe se moquaient de mon accent.

2. Comment tout a commencé pour toi ?
La musique a toujours été ma passion. Il existe une vidéo où j’ai 3 ans et je chante déjà, assise dans une armoire. C’était drôle. À l’âge de 12 ans, j’ai décidé d’apprendre seule le piano et la guitare. Au lieu, j’organisais les chansons pour le spectacle de fin d’année. Au mois d’avril dernier, j’ai sorti mon premier album : Le droit de rêver. Mes chansons parlent d’amour, de tendresse, et d’espoir.

3. Ton dernier clip a été tourné à New York ?
Oui. J’avais toujours eu envie d’y aller. Dès que j’entendais que j’allais tourner le clip à New York, j’ai sauté au plafond ! J’étais super-content. Les bâtiments immenses et la circulation dans les rues de Manhattan me semblaient incroyables. J’ai acheté beaucoup de souvenirs là-bas – des bijoux surtout – pour ma meilleure amie, Juliette.

4. Quand tu ne chantes pas, qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire ?
J’aime être avec ma chienne, Bouba. Je n’aime pas sortir en boîte pendant la semaine. Je préfère passer mon temps à lire ou à voir des artistes qui me touchent en concert. Le week-end, ce que j’aime le plus, c’est manger avec mes amis autour d’une bonne table.
