Hanna and Timo are unhappy because after half an hour of walking, they no longer want to continue with the hike. They would rather enjoy ice cream, which they feel would be a better way to spend their day.

The festival takes place in the market square of Hörpel. It is very lively and busy, with a band playing dance music. People can be seen dancing, sitting at long tables, and enjoying sausages and cool drinks. Hanna and her family find seats amidst the festivities.

The trumpet player announces that there are great prizes to win during the festival, encouraging everyone to participate.

After the announcement, Hanna's father buys four tickets for the raffle. The winning ticket, number 33, is announced, and Hanna's parents realize they do not have luck with their tickets. However, Timo, who has ticket number 33, must go to the podium to claim his prize, a piglet, which he happily takes in his arms.

Timo faces the problem that his father does not like pets, particularly animals in the house or apartment. This creates a challenge for Timo as he is excited about the piglet but knows it might not be accepted.

At first, Timo's father tells him that he cannot keep the piglet in the house. However, later, he allows Timo to take it home with the condition that he can keep it for three days.

Rudi runs around the apartment, exploring and settling in. He particularly enjoys rolling on the carpet or rug in the father’s study and finds a cozy spot to sleep in the apartment, which he explores happily.

The following morning, Hanna discovers that Rudi has eaten all of the hand cream that was in a jar on the floor, leaving the jar empty. This results in Rudi feeling ill, but he seems happy, continuing to run around the house.
