The black surface radiates heat better than the white surface. As a result, the can that is painted black will lose heat more quickly, causing the water inside to cool down faster. Conversely, the white can reflects more heat, allowing the water to retain its warmth for a longer period. Hence, the water in the white can will remain warmer for a longer time.
