Cover the leaf of a plant with aluminum foil to prevent photosynthesis.
Place the plant in the dark for a period of time to de-starch.
After that, place the plant in bright light for several hours to allow photosynthesis to occur.
Remove the chlorophyll by boiling the leaf in alcohol.
Once the leaf is boiled, add iodine solution to the leaf.
Observe the color change; only the parts of the leaf exposed to light will turn blue-black, indicating the presence of starch.
