Answer
Measure Heights and Draw Horizontal Lines:
Utilize the contour lines provided to measure vertical heights along line AB.
Draw horizontal lines at each height intersecting line AB to determine the elevations.
Projections from Intersections Between Line AB and Contours:
Identify the points where line AB intersects the contour lines.
From these intersection points, project horizontal lines to the left of the profile to indicate the elevations of the contour lines.
Draw Outline of Profile:
Connect the projected points to form a continuous line that represents the vertical profile along line AB.
Step 2
Using side slopes of 1 in 1 for both cuttings and embankments, complete the earthworks on the northern side necessary to accommodate the roadway.

Answer
Parallel Lines at 5m Intervals:
Draw parallel lines along the northern side of the proposed roadway at 5m intervals to represent the earthwork levels.
Identify Points on Cutting Curve:
Based on the roadway's slope, identify and mark points on the cutting curve needed for the design.
Identify Points on Embankment Curve:
Similarly, mark the points on the embankment curve where the earthworks will transition from cutting to embankment.
Draw Earthworks Curve:
Using the identified points, sketch the earthworks curve on the drawing to show the necessary modifications to the terrain and ensure it meets the roadway design criteria.
