Young's Modulus of Elasticity is defined as the ratio of tensile stress (force per unit area) to tensile strain (proportional deformation) in a material within the elastic limit. It is a measure of the stiffness of a material and can be expressed mathematically as:

$E = \frac{\sigma}{\varepsilon}$

where $E$ is Young's Modulus, $\sigma$ is the stress, and $\varepsilon$ is the strain.
