The four-jaw independent chuck is designed for eccentric turning and for gripping square, round, and irregular shapes. This chuck allows the workpiece to be centered more accurately than a three-jaw chuck but requires more time for setup. Each of the four jaws can be adjusted independently, enabling precise control over the positioning of the workpiece. The jaws are reversible, allowing only one set to be required.
