Personal Hygiene

• Illness: Avoid preparing food if you are sick, as bacteria can transfer to food.
• Wash Hands: Always wash hands with hot water and antibacterial soap, especially after using the toilet, sneezing, or touching raw food.
• Nails: Keep nails short, clean, and free of nail polish to prevent bacteria or polish chips from contaminating food.
• Jewellery: Remove rings and other jewellery, as they can trap food particles and bacteria.

• Apron: Wear an apron to prevent transferring germs from clothing to food.
• Hair: Tie back or cover hair to avoid hair strands falling into food.

• Tasting: Use a clean spoon every time you taste food. Do not double-dip or use your fingers to taste to avoid spreading bacteria.
• Cuts: Cover cuts with brightly coloured plaster so they can be easily spotted if they fall into food.
