Struggling to remember the plot? 💻 "Katfish" – The Most Epic Catfishing Scam of All Time! 🎣
Alright, buckle up, because this short story is a wild ride! Think you know how catfishing works? Think again! This story flips everything on its head. It's got fake identities, online flirting, a shocking plot twist, and the most savage revenge plan ever. Let's dive in!
So, our story kicks off with a super typical online chat between a 14-year-old girl called Kat and a boy named "Jongreen" (who claims to be 16). They met online, and the convo is all flirty, casual, and full of emojis. Jongreen is totally smitten, firing off compliments left and right, trying to impress Kat.
But Kat? Oh, she plays the game like a pro. She's friendly but doesn't give too much away, making herself sound mysterious and hard to get. Jongreen keeps pushing for personal info, asking if she has ever dated a guy before, digging for details about her school, and even asking for her address! 🚨 Red flag alert! 🚨
Kat dodges his questions like an absolute queen 💅, but when he starts asking for her phone number, things get seriously suspicious. She keeps her cool and refuses to give it until they meet in person.
And that's when things get real interesting.
Kat agrees to meet Jongreen in the public park, on a bench near the bank. She tells her parents she's going to "violin classes", because, obviously, no parent in their right mind would let their 14-year-old daughter meet some random guy from the internet.
She arrives at the park looking like an absolute star – fake tan, blue hotpants, high heels, and a full face of makeup. She knows exactly what she's doing.
And then... BAM! PLOT TWIST!
Jongreen isn't 16.
Jongreen isn't even a TEENAGER.
Jongreen is a 46-year-old creep sitting on the bench, waiting for her. 🤢 GROSS.
The moment she sees him, she doesn't freak out, cry, or panic. Oh no.
She sticks to the plan. 😈
Jongreen (who is actually James, ew) immediately starts making excuses. "Oh, look, um, yeah, so funny story, I'm actually 46, but like, don't worry, I have loads of money, and if you wanna come to my place, we can drink whatever you want! I'll even drive you home! Cool, right?"
WRONG, James.
Sir, PLEASE. Have some self-respect.
Kat stares him dead in the eye and says "You do know this is illegal, right?" She straight-up tells him he could go to prison for this. But James? He DOESN'T EVEN CARE. He actually has the nerve to say, "Yeah… but I don't care about age."
DISGUSTING. 🤮
And that's when Kat flips the script.
She reaches into her bag… and turns off the microphone on her phone.
Wait.
WHAT?!
MICROPHONE??
That's right.
The entire conversation? RECORDED.
The online chats? SAVED.
Kat set him up from the start. 💀
She looks him dead in the eye and says, "Give me your phone. NOW."
James hesitates, but Kat doesn't blink.
"If you don't give me your phone right now, I will start screaming," she tells him. "We're in the middle of town. Who will the public believe? A middle-aged man or a small, innocent 14-year-old girl?"
James knows he's screwed.
He hands over the phone.
But Kat isn't done yet.
"Now, unlock it. Turn off the passcode" she says.
And THEN, she tells him to take out his wallet, his bank card, AND his credit card.
SAVAGE.
She makes him enter the PIN codes into his phone and saves them.
Then, she tells him:
"Sit here. Don't move. I'm going to the ATM. If I see you even move a finger, I'm calling the Gardaí."
And he just sits there and lets it happen. LIKE AN ABSOLUTE FOOL.
Kat struts over to the ATM, withdraws ALL his money, and takes everything he has.
She walks back, looks him straight in the face, and tells him:
"If you stay still and don't do anything stupid, we can forget this ever happened. If you break even ONE condition, you will never see me again."
Then, just to make sure James can't track her down, she smashes his phone into tiny little pieces on the ground.
She walks away.
The bus arrives.
She gets on.
And just like that…
Kat is GONE.
So, let's just take a second to appreciate how ICONIC Kat's revenge was.
The whole time, we thought she was the victim—a young, naïve girl who was being tricked by an older guy.
BUT NO.
SHE was the one playing him.
SHE set the trap.
SHE got the money, the evidence, and the perfect escape.
Meanwhile, James is left sitting humiliated, broke, and terrified on a public bench.
Justice SERVED. 👏👏👏
