Pictiúr 1

• Tús an tsamhraidh a bhí ann. It was the beginning of summer.

• Bhí Aisling agus Órlaith ag caint is ag comhrá lasmuigh den séipéal. Aisling and Órlaith were chit chatting outside the church.

• Bhí an ghrian ag scalladh anuas orthu. The sun was burning down on them.

• Ní raibh scamall sa spéir. There wasn't a cloud in the sky.

• Bhí fonn ar na cailiní post páirt aimseartha a fháil, agus mar sin rinne siad agallamh le Bainisteoir an Óstáin áitiúil. The girls were keen to get a part time job, so they set up an interview with the manager of the local hotel.

• Fuair siad na postanna- bhí an t-ádh dearg leo! They got the jobs - they were really lucky!

• Bhíodh orthu éirí ag breacadh an lae leis na seomraí a ghlanadh agus a folúsglanadh. They would have to get up at the crack of dawn to clean and hoover the rooms.

• D'oibrigh siad go dian dícheallach. They worked really hard.

• Nuair a bhí dothán airgid ag na cailiní, chuaigh siad thar sáille go dtí an Róimh. When the girls had enough money, they went abroad to Rome.

• I bpictiúr a ceathair, tháinig na cailíní thar nais go hÉirinn. In the fourth picture, the girls came back to Ireland.

• Cinnte, bhí siad thar a bheith gnóthach. For sure, they were really busy.

• D'imir siad peil leis an gclub áitiúil agus d'éirigh lena bhfoireann peile craobh an chontae a bhuachan. They played football with their local club and their football team won the county championship.

• Bhí gliondar croí orthu nuair a d'ardaigh siad an corn. They were delighted when they lifted the cup.

• Chomh maith leis sin, chuaigh siad go dtí an phictiúrlann. As well as that, they went to the cinema.

• Bhí an phictiúrlann i gcónaí plódaithe le daoine óga. The cinema was always packed with young people.

• Chonaic siad scannáin iontacha agus d'ith siad grán rósta le chéile! They saw wonderful movies and they ate popcorn together!

• Ina theannta sin, rinne na cailíní obair dheonach. In addition, the girls did volunteer work.

• Thug siad lámh chúnta do Chumann Naomh Uinseann de Pól. They gave a helping hand to the St. Vincent de Paul Organisation.

• Chuaigh siad timpeall na cathrach agus thug siad amach bia agus earraí do na daoine bochta. They went around the city and gave out food and clothes to poor people.

• 'Is ar scáth a chéile a mhaireann na daoine', mar a deirtear. 'Under the shelter of each other, people survive', as the saying goes.

• Níorbh fhada go raibh deireadh an tsamhraidh buailte leo. It wasn't long until the end of the summer met them.

• Chaith na cailíní tamall ag féachaint siar ar na rudaí a rinne siad i rith an tsamhraidh. The girls spent time looking back on the things they did during the summer.

• D'aontaigh an bheirt acu go raibh samhradh den chéad scoth acu agus nach ndéanfaidís dearmad air go brách. The two of them agreed that they had an amazing summer and that they would never forget it.

• Bhí siad ag tnúth leis an samhradh seo chugainn cheana féin! They were looking forward to next summer already!
