A ritual is a religious or solemn ceremony consisting of a series of actions performed according to a prescribed order. An example is baptism in Christianity, which is a ritual that symbolizes purification and admission to the faith.

The peaceful coexistence in South Africa's religious communities can be attributed to several factors. Firstly, during apartheid, various religious groups united against discrimination, fostering solidarity. The South African Constitution guarantees religious freedom, which allows diverse beliefs to flourish without fear of repression. Additionally, interfaith dialogues and the recognition of common values have nurtured respectful relationships among different faiths.

One recent example of armed conflict in Africa is the conflict in the Central African Republic (CAR), which began around 2003.
